Hurricane Diane

Dionysus comes to the modern world to return the earth its natural state

Written by Madeleine George, Hurricane Diane follows the story of a butch female gardener (Diane), reincarnated from the Greek god Dionysus, who inserts ‘herself’ into the lives of four modern-day New Jersey women to destroy the man-made world. To achieve this, Diane will use all her powers of persuasion, sometimes by horrific means, to get these ladies to realize that they are killing the environment by trying to subdue mother nature – these women become her Bacchae. In the end, one woman, Carol, holds out, and decides to cling to her self-centered, well-manicured world. The god’s eleventh-hour plea does not work, and Diane must turn into the hurricane that destroys the world.
