Nikos Rictor
Teaching Artist & College/Career Prep Coach
Nikos Rictor is a recent graduate from Linfield University, now working as a teaching artist and college preparedness coach. Nikos has previously worked as a lighting designer, director, acting coach, and college recruiter. Their dedication to fostering artistic minds leads them to provide support to young artists across the nation. They offer workshops in arts administration, color theory, lighting design basics, nontraditional storytelling, and college & career preparation. They are driven by their personal mission to educate, challenge, and support the next generation of artistic voices.

As a lighting designer, Nikos most enjoys working on shows that challenge them to focus on lighting aspects they find more difficult to accomplish. Previously they have worked on shows such as Sarah Delapp’s The Wolves, Madeliene George’s Hurricane Diane, and Greg Allen’s Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind (30 plays in 60 minutes). Nikos has also worked on original play development at the high school and university levels helping develop over a dozen plays for young artists. In 2024 Nikos was recognized in their regional theatre festival for their work on building a company focused on breaking down physical barriers in the arts. They were presented with the Excellence in Lighting Design award and selected to attend the national Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival for lighting design and ASPIRE Arts Leadership. Nikos now works in school and regional theatre education programs developing their own Beyond Barries Theatre curriculum.
During their free time, Nikos is a writer, avid reader, parent of a five-year-old German Shepard, and uncle to a niece and nephew. Their personal life thrives on the connections they make with friends their family and while traveling. Nikos keeps an active life socially and physically making sure life is full of adventure and never stagnant for long periods of time.
